From the November-December 2001 issueEditorial: Souls of Light, Souls of DarknessMessages of Love: Responses to 9/11 St. Germain Dalai Lama Jean Reddeman Rabbi Lerner Alan Cohen Beating Aspartame Withdrawal through Super Nutrition by Betty Martini [Home] [Back] [Sep-Oct 01] [Jul-Aug01] [May-Jun01] | ||||
Souls of Light, Souls of DarknessTime to Waken...Editor, Rose Jenkins Fear and hatred erupted in America last September 11th, challenging our dreams and hopes for the future. Nightmares made flesh sought to obstruct the birth of the Universal Human Being, struggling to come through the birth canal of the present-a smoky corridor we must navigate in uncertainty... We continue to grieve for America and all the beings on our planet. Yet, there is a gift here: we are witnessing our own birth as a more globally compassionate human being. We are discovering that our hearts really do register the pain and joy of others on a scale previously unprecedented... We must always remember that we share a common destiny; that we cannot escape our connection with our brothers and sisters; that we are endowed-or even burdened-with the gifts of Freedom, Consciousness and Free Will. That freedom comes with the price tag of Responsibility... Consciousness requires Right Thinking and Right Action-as some of our highest teachers have told us. And, we owe it to ourselves to find the Self-Existing Hero within, who with unflinching resolve and bright strength will stride across the threshold of Darkness in victory. Love and courage is truly an unbeatable combination and is part of our human birthright. The challenges and tests will continue so it is essential that even more souls awaken now to their purpose, truth and responsibility. Ego-mind and other enslaving entities must be "put in their place" to allow our Higher Selves to achieve mastery and the goal of the Soul's mission. It is our destiny... We have peered deeply into darkness, perhaps sensing the darkness in our own souls. Yes, like the probable black hole living in our galaxy's center, there may be a burning darkness that brings both pain... and... awareness! The price of evolution appears, indeed, to be pain. Our sense of pain and rage at atrocities wakes the sleeping soul from its endless dream or illusion, reminding us that as Conscious Cosmic Beings, we have the duty and obligation to dig ever deeper for Light in a dark-shrouded world, and to invoke the spiritual strength needed for challenges ahead. Like the Taoist symbol of Yin and Yang, darkness-in-light, light-in-darkness, let us remember that the Light must acknowledge that mote of darkness lurking at its heart. Let us also remember that even in fiercely burning darkness, some light may emerge, showing the Heart and Mind of God. Let each take responsibility for his or her own darkness, transforming that with the Will-to-Love, and we will see the world become brighter. We must accept our pain and the pain of our Mother Earth in her efforts to grow spiritually. As we feel and grieve for all suffering beings everywhere, let us remember that there is a Higher Path; there is a Higher Dimension to our beings, and that no nation, ideology, or religion is enough to contain the Light of our Soul Though Spirit is immeasurable, our days seem limited and our actions restricted... It is time to awaken to our greater potential. Now, we must wring the darkness of fear, ignorance, greed and selfishness from our patchwork of days and honor the Father-Creator, Mother-Earth and the Web of Life by consecrating and making a deeper commitment to sustain Life-the Heart that beats as One, One Breath, One Life Let the ultimate victory be the birth of that Universal Cosmic Human beingour Triumph In Truth, it is on Earth as it is in Heaven. Message from St. Germain, September 19, 2001
TOP Channeled by Donna Simelunas (reprinted with permission by author) Pull Quote: This opening of the heart of humanity has allowed for a tremendous in-flow of Divine Love energies from the Angelic and Ascended Realms. Never in the modern history of Earth has there been such a time when humanity, collectively, has been so receptive and inviting of this Divine Energy. St. Germain Each day as you awaken and open your eyes to the Light of the Sun, you become aware that the world has changed and you have changed relative to it and within it. This past week you have each awakened through numerous layers and veils. Your hearts have opened and your eyes have been made to see through many of the illusions and misperceptions of the world as you have known it to be. There is a natural equilibrium that strives to regain balance at all times in this universe. As extremes are realized, energy moves in and out of that equilibrium, always attempting to level itself to a Divine quietude of peace. For every act of darkness and destruction there is an opening for an equal constructive act of Love and Light. Embrace the love, honor, sympathy and compassion being expressed and experienced at this time. Allow it to change you and to deepen your sense of who you are. As those planes shattered the Twin Towers, so was a crystallized shield around the heart of humanity shattered. You all felt it, did you not? Those of you that work with energy understand this concept of a crystallized shield. Through the eons of time, trials, pain and suffering, the heart of humanity became vulnerable to the outer effects of war and struggle. To protect itself and It's gentle nature it armored itself with a shield. That is of what we speak. The heart stripped of this armor is a beautiful thing, it allows the flow of love freely and abundantly, in and out, without restriction or misqualification. This is evident in the actions and feelings expressed throughout the world this week. Love has been expressed not only nationwide, but worldwide. This opening of the heart of humanity has allowed for a tremendous in-flow of Divine Love energies from the Angelic and Ascended Realms. Never in the modern history of Earth has there been such a time when humanity, collectively, has been so receptive and inviting of this Divine Energy. So, although this event is surely tragic beyond comprehension, it has resulted in such love that your world has deeply changed because of it. Can you embrace and appreciate the balance in that? Use this opportunity to further open your heart. To further penetrate the Love and Light within you and the planet. Allow the pain to be felt and the tears to fall. Men and women alike offered their tears freely and openly this week. Allow the cleansing of the heart to continue and wash away the old hard shell that kept love hidden behind locked doors of fear and anger. There may be a tendency for some to grip their heart in a fist of fear and anger as the days proceed and the rubble clears. It has been written and accepted in your psychology that anger is a natural step in the path to healing. Perhaps this has been so, but nothing is absolute and nothing has to result in anger or retaliation. Allow yourself to move beyond the programmed dogmas and conditioned beliefs that have held your heart static. We invite you to dwell in the open-heartedness and the good that has been felt and expressed, as this is the upward path. You may gather the crystal shards and rebuild your shield if you wish. Or you can leave the crystals glistening about the atmosphere to magnetize and reflect back to you the Love, Light and Joy that is the True Reality shining upon you. The choice is yours. Do not allow yourself to get caught up in the conspiracies and the control dramas of the "victim and the perpetrator," as that is the old way. That energy, if allowed, will run itself out and completely dissolve. Or, it can be re-energized for another round of the same, until you decide, collectively, that you have had enough. Have you had enough yet? Do not allow yourself to become prey to the distorted patterns of fear, war, retaliation and anger. Be aware of where, and to what you give your attention, as that is what will manifest. Be mindful of what you are resisting. Resistance is a powerful magnet, which attracts only that which is being resisted. Tricky though it may seem, it is the Law. As your brother Yeshua, said, "Resist not evil." In His Divine Wisdom, He understood that evil does not exist in the mind of God; it is but a man-made construct held in the lower consciousness, made real by the power and recognition you give it through fear and resistance. It may surprise or even amuse some of you to hear this, but your "secret cabals" as they have been labeled by some, have used the strategy of resistance in their favor through out time. They intentionally feed information and ideas that serve their agendas and provoke your resistance, so that their agendas will have your added power to manifest. They know that resistance works to attract and serves no other function. Resistance is a mighty teacher in duality, for sure. And in your efforts to avoid limitations from being inflicted upon you, you protest and resist, drawing into reality exactly that which you are resisting. Review your Earth's history and you will see a pattern of Truth in what we speak. We urge you, "resist not evil". Give it no power at all. Do not allow yourself to be blinded by false patriotism and lies. Ask within for the truth to be revealed. Seek the truth. Expect the truth. Demand the truth. Live the truth. Collectively, if you do this, you will draw to you the Real Truth. Your thoughts will create a vortex that will magnetize Truth, and the darkness in it's effort to hide the truth, will magnetize it into reality. You see how you can righteously use the Law of Resistance in service to the One. Use Universal Law with Mastery to create Heaven on Earth, as that is how it was intended to work from the beginning. These are your tools, use them wisely, do not be used by them. Notice the words of those in influential positions. Notice what they are affirming. "A long, hard road to recovery," seems to be a common theme. We say to you belovedsDO NOT ACCEPT IT into your consciousness. There is no absolute here. You have the ability to change it. When you hear such statements, use your consciousness to counter-act them with something constructive such as, "Recovery is swift. Resolution is swift and peaceful. We are at peace." It does not have to be a long dark road ahead. Do not allow war to be declared for you if it is not your choosing. Use your ability to change things through inward action and there will be no need for outward action. Remember that YOU Are The Creatorso what do you choose to create? Please use discernment toward all information you receive from all sources. I assure you, there is no Master or representative from the Higher Realms that is declaring war or proclaiming the long dark road ahead. Detach yourself from the various exploited potentials. Visualize it as you wish it to be. If pictures enter your consciousness that are not the ideal of peace, immediately hold them in the violet flame and release them into the Light, and then breathe in peace. Be in peace. Affirm the Love and Light that you are. Affirm Peace. Affirm Ascension. And transmute anything that comes in your path or enters your consciousness that is not of the Light and Love. We urge you to guard your words and discussions, your interactions regarding the potentials of war and retaliation. Again we remind you, whatever you focus attention on is where you hold your consciousness, and is thus, what you create. Be mindful and create consciously and responsibly. We cannot stress this enough, as so many allow their consciousness to run off by itself at times, giving power to the outer and creating chaos. It is Mastery to control and direct your thought and words, beloveds. So, be mindful of what you are resisting and what you are calling forth through your thoughts and words. Many of you seem to be looking for something "to DO" to assist or to bring resolution. Remember always that the outer projection is the illusion. The illusion is only real when you believe into reality and allow it to run you. It is empowered by your beliefs. You have the ability to run your reality and out-picture it consciously as you desire it to be. The true Reality is the Christ-Self within. So, therefore, the only thing for you "to DO" is to focus your heart, your mind, your energy and your attention on the peace, truth, and love of the I Am Presence within you. If you join together to do this, as you have all joined together this past week, as One Heart of Love, the legions of Love and Light will band with you and manifest Once (ONE's) and FOR ALL Heaven upon Earth. Can you be the Master that watches and observes, while remaining completely detached from appearances and detached from the outcome, holding firmly to your True God-Reality? Can you walk the middle way and allow the energy to run its course, holding the heart flame steady with the flow of the Mighty I AM within, without allowing the outer disruptive currents to cause you to waver? Can you accept that there is One Power, One Divine Order in the universe and hold your consciousness there until it becomes manifest in your reality? And the answer to all of the above is, of your course you can. So, will you but do it! Allow the events of the day to liberate you from the illusions of bondage and limitation. Every event, every tragedy is but another call to wake up from the deep slumber that you have allowed to capture your attention. The alarm clock is ringing it is time to awaken to the Truth of who and what you are. Will you awaken or rollover and wait for another day? The time is now. Be in peace and share your love and so shall be the new order of the day! So be it. I AM with utter confidence in each and everyone of you. In love, peace and service, I AM your loving brother St. Germain. Copyright@ 2001, Donna Simelunas, email:hialchemy@hotmail.com. All rights reserved. TOP |

Letter from the Dalai Lama
(obtained the web with implicit fair use) TOP Pull Quote: If you wish to heal your own sadness or anger, seek to heal the sadness or anger of another. Dalai LamaDear friends around the world: The events of this day cause every thinking person to stop their daily lives, whatever is going on in them, and to ponder deeply the larger questions of life. We search again for not only the meaning of life, but the purpose of our individual and collective experience as we have created itand we look earnestly for ways in which we might recreate ourselves as a human species, so that we will never treat each other this way again. The hour has come for us to demonstrate at the highest level our most extraordinary thought about Who We Really Are. There are two possible responses to what has occurred today. The first comes from love, the second from fear. If we come from fear we may panic and do thingsas individuals and as nationsthat could only cause further damage. If we come from love we will find refuge and strength, even as we provide it to others. This is the moment of your ministry. This is the time of teaching. What you teach at this time, through your every word and action right now, will remain as indelible lessons in the hearts and minds of those whose lives you touch, both now, and for years to come. We will set the course for tomorrow, today. At this hour. In this moment. Let us seek not to pinpoint blame, but to pinpoint cause. Unless we take this time to look at the cause of our experience, we will never remove ourselves from the experiences it creates. Instead, we will forever live in fear of retribution from those within the human family who feel aggrieved, and, likewise, seek retribution from them. To us [Buddhist thinkers] the reasons are clear. We have not learned the most basic human lessons. We have not remembered the most basic human truths. We have not understood the most basic spiritual wisdom. In short, we have not been listening to God, and because we have not, we watch ourselves do ungodly things. The message we hear from all sources of truth is clear: We are all one. That is a message the human race has largely ignored. Forgetting this truth is the only cause of hatred and war, and the way to remember is simple: Love, this and every moment. If we could love even those who have attacked us, and seek to understand why they have done so, what then would be our response? Yet if we meet negativity with negativity, rage with rage, attack with attack, what then will be the outcome? These are the questions that are placed before the human race today. They are questions that we have failed to answer for thousands of years. Failure to answer them now could eliminate the need to answer them at all. If we want the beauty of the world that we have co-created to be experienced by our children and our children's children, we will have to become spiritual activists right here, right now, and cause that to happen. We must choose to be a cause in the matter. So, talk with God today. Ask God for help, for counsel and advice, for insight and for strength and for inner peace and for deep wisdom. Ask God on this day to show us how to show up in the world in a way that will cause the world itself to change. And join all those people around the world whoare praying right now, adding your Light to the Light that dispels all fear. That is the challenge that is placed before every thinking person today. Today the human soul asks the question: What can I do to preserve the beauty and the wonder of our world and to eliminate the anger and hatredand the disparity that inevitably causes itin that part of the world which I touch? Please seek to answer that question today, with all the magnificence that is You. What can you do TODAY this very moment? A central teaching in most spiritual traditions is: What you wish to experience, provide for another. Look to see, now, what it is you wish to experience in your own life, and in the world. Then see if there is another for whom you may be the source of that. If you wish to experience peace, provide peace for another. If you wish to know that you are safe, cause [others] to know that they are safe. If you wish to better understand seemingly incomprehensible things, help another to better understand. If you wish to heal your own sadness or anger, seek to heal the sadness or anger of another. Those others are waiting for you now. They are looking to you for guidance, for help, for courage, for strength, for understanding, and for assurance at this hour. Most of all, they are looking to you for love. My religion is very simple. My religion is kindness. TOP |

From a Native American Seer Jean Reddeman (obtained the web with implicit fair use) TOP Pull Quote: A nation is not lost as long as the women's hearts are still high. American Indian ProverbYesterday's incident seems to be what our elders had predicted a long time ago. It was predicted that there will be a Massive Spiritual Exodus of very advanced Souls in order to really change the value system in the world. This Exodus could have been avoided if the nation would have worked towards peace and spiritual values. This Massive Exodus is sad because it needed so many sacrifices of human lives to allow the global awareness to raise to new levels. Our elders had predicted that Great Good will come after this tragedy, especially if people recognized the teachings of the event and if they honored those that sacrificed their lives. We have to thank and elevate these souls that died during the tragedy. They will still be around us for nine days. We need to feast them, honor them and recognize their love for all of us. We have to listen to their teachings as they are very evolved souls that will be helping the major shift that the world so sorely needs. We are to honor them and ask them what we must do to change our world. They came into this lifetime to give us this gift, the gift of their lives and of their love, so that the world changes to a better place. We must honor them, we must go forward. We must listen to their messages from the Heavens. There is much work to be done, particularly for women. Why women? It comes from an old Indian Proverb: "A nation is not lost as long as the womenÕs hearts are still high. Only when the womenÕs hearts are on the groundâ then all is finished, and the nation dies." The women are the life carriers. Women need to reach inside and tap into their own female powerful energy. The world needs much nurturing right now, more than ever. From this female energy, men will gain their original strength. Not the strength that economic, political and military power gives, but true spiritual strength from where all lives truly flourish. We need to cultivate the receptive, docile and nurturing energy. We cannot go on with wars, we will all die, if we do. We have to see in the middle of the pain and chaos the greater lessons. But, most of all, let us not miss the precious moment that we have in the next nine days to talk to these souls that have left their bodies for our sake, for our salvation and true freedom. We must thank them from the bottom of our hearts, with incredible love, for they are great people. We have to share this moment so that together we can go to this new consciousness, the female energy that is so much needed at this time. Jean is of the Stockbridge Munsee Bank of the Mohican Nation. Her Indian name is Wasaki Emani Wi, which means Strong Walking Woman. She is known by her people as a Seer. TOP |

A World Out Of Touch With Itself: Where the Violence Comes From by Rabbi Michael Lerner, Editor, TIKKUN Magazine (reprinted with permission by author) TOP Pull Quote: We may need a global day of atonement and repentance Rabbi LernerThere is never any justification for acts of terror against innocent civiliansit is the quintessential act of dehumanization and not recognizing the sanctity of others. The violence being directed against Americans today, like the violence being directed against Israeli civilians by Palestinian terrorists, or the violence being directed against Palestinian civilians by the Israeli army occupying the West Bank and Gaza, seem to point to a world increasingly irrational and out of control. It's understandable why many of us will feel anger. Demagogues will try to direct that anger at various "target groups" (Muslims are in particular danger, though Yassir Arafat and other Islamic leaders have unequivocally denounced these terrorist acts). The militarists will use this as a moment to call for increased defense spending at the expense of the needy. Right wing may even seek to limit civil liberties. President Bush will feel pressure to look "decisive" and take "strong" actionphrases that can be manipulated toward irrational responses It's true, but not enough, to say that the current violence is a reflection of our estrangement from God. More precisely, it is the way we fail to respond to each other as embodiments of the sacred. We may tell ourselves that the current violence has "nothing to do" with the way that we've learned to close our ears when told that one out of every three people on this planet does not have enough food, and that one billion are literally starving. We may reassure ourselves that the hoarding of the world's resources by the richest society in world history, and our frantic attempts to accelerate globalization with its attendant inequalities of wealth, has nothing to do with the resentment that others feel toward us. We may tell ourselves that the suffering of refugees and the oppressed have nothing to do with usthat's a different story that is going on somewhere else. But we live in one world, increasingly interconnected with everyone, and the forces that lead people to feel outrage; anger and desperation eventually impact on our own daily lives. When people have learned to de-sanctify each other, to treat each other as means to our own ends, to not feel the pain of those who are suffering, we end up creating a world in which these kinds of terrible acts of violence become more common. This is a world out of touch with itself, filled with people who have forgotten how to recognize and respond to the sacred in each other because we are so used to looking at others from the standpoint of what they can do for us, how we can use them toward our own ends. [Yet], no one should use this as an excuse for these terrible acts of violencethe absolute quintessence of de-sanctification. I categorically reject any notion that violence is ever justified. It is always an act of de-sanctification, of not being able to see the divine in the other. We should pray for the victims and the families of those who have been hurt or murdered in these crazy acts. Yet we should also pray that America does not return to "business as usual," but rather turns to a period of reflection, coming back into touch with our common humanity, asking ourselves how our institutions can best embody our highest values. We may need a global day of atonement and repentance dedicated to finding a way to turn the direction of our society at every level, a return to the most basic Biblical ideal: that every human life is sacred, that "the bottom line" should be the creation of a world of love and caring, and that the best way to prevent these kinds of acts is not to turn ourselves into a police state, but turn ourselves into a society in which social justice, love, and compassion are so prevalent that violence becomes only a distant memory. Rabbi Michael Lerner is editor of TIKKUN Magazine and rabbi of Beyt Tikkun Synagogue in San Francisco. He is the author of "Jewish Renewal: A Path to Healing and Transformation", "Spirit Matters: Global Healing and the Wisdom of the Soul", "The Politics of Meaning" and others. He has been designated as "One of America's 100 Visionaries" by the Utne Reader. Rabbi Lerner has received threats because of the stand he takes on recognizing Palestinian rights and because he insists on the equal sanctity of every human being on the planet. In solidarity, we urge you to help him by subscribing to TIKKUN Magazine, $29 to Tikkun, 2107 Van Ness Ave., Suite 302, S.F., CA 94109, www.Tikkun.org, email:RabbiLerner@tikkun.org, 510-526 6889 or 415-575-1200. Faithkeeper by Alan Cohen (obtained from author with implicit fair use) TOP Pull Quote: The pure love of one person can offset the anxiety of thousands. Alan Cohen (paraphrasing Gandhi) "Fear knocked at the door. Faith answered. No one was there." The question is not, "Have you moved off your center?" The question is, "How quickly can you regain it?" For many years we have been studying the principles of spiritual truth. Now is the time to put them into practice. When things are going well, it is easy to find God. When things seem chaotic, it is harder. The strength we build by claiming divine order when it is utterly unapparent is paramount. Spiritual mastery is gained in times just such as these. As you may know, I find many practical spiritual lessons through stories in motion pictures. One comes to mind now that is quite applicable: In Starman, an extraterrestrial visits earth to experience the joys and sorrows of life as a human. He develops a relationship with a woman who loves him. Eventually he must return to his home planet, but before he does, she asks him what he has learned about the people of earth. "When things are at their worst," he comments, "you are at your best." September 11 showed us a disaster unlike any that most of us have seen in our lifetime. But September 12 and the days that follow have shown us an outpouring of love and compassion unlike any we have seen in our lifetime. No single event has connected so many people throughout the entire planet with a sense of caring and support. People from all over the world are reaching out to share resources, blood, skill, money, and heart. There is a miracle in here somewhere. Let us not use this event as a way to stay disconnected from higher power. Hold firm to your sense of wholeness and that of everyone you consider. When you are upset you are ineffective to see a right course of action. When you are hooked up, you are very powerful. Mahatma Gandhi noted, "The pure love of one person can offset the hatred of thousands." The pure love of one person can offset the anxiety of thousands. Let us each be that one person. There are two elements to this event: What happened, and what we do with it. What was done has been done. What will be is still in our hands. We can make of it what we choose. We can use it as a justification to lash out or we can build a new consciousness that has no home for terror. Let us begin by quitting terrifying ourselves with scary thoughts. Love disarms. We bless and send love and intentions for well-being to those most affected. Words soothe little, but respect for your power edifies you. When one of my parents passed away, a friend left a simple message on my answering machine that helped me immensely: "I feel your strength." We stand in deep honor of the leaders and people of New York, who are demonstrating immense courage and cooperation. New Yorkers are compellingly resilient, and they will prevail. Thank you for an awesome model of dignity and grace under fire. Perhaps it is no accident that world attention is being focused on the World Trade Center. Perhaps the message is that it is time to trade our old world for one more connected to our center. We will come out on the other side of this. We will pick up the pieces and move on. And we will be closer to home for it. Blessings, Alan Cohen Ed.'s Note: Above segments not explicitly requiring permission to reprint were assumed to have given implicit authorization by making this material available to the editor. Every effort has been made to give proper credit to the various authors. We hope the vast outpouring of high energy wisdom will provide help to our readers and give them courage and hope. TOP |

Beating Aspartame Withdrawal through Super Nutrition
submitted by Betty Martini
(with permission to reprint)
Oh how I wish there was a way to accelerate getting through withdrawal! While overall, I'm much better than I was two and a half weeks ago, it still seems like a long haul until I'll be functioning anywhere near normally. But, at least I can see that day coming. Two weeks ago I wouldn't have bet a penny on my survival. Thanks to a wonderful herbalogist/nutritionist, I started taking supplements. I'm presently taking CoQ10 four times a day to help oxigenate my tissues and muscles; milk thistle to help my liver; acidopholis to help restore healthy bacteria to my system and fight the yeast infection; a natural cream to help the withdrawal from Prempro; digestive enzymes to assist in my digestion and daily fiber capsules. She also put me on a soy protein drink to provide additional nutrition because eating is still difficult for me. I'm also drinking so much water that we finally had a water cooler installed in the house. The water is bottled and purified through reverse osmosis... and no hassle about getting to the store to get more water as they deliver the 5 1/2 gallon bottles right to the house. I find that I really need the water as I tend to get dry mouth all the time without it. And the nearly hourly trips to the bathroom upstairs provides good exercise. While I haven't tried my free strider for more than a week, I try to get my exercise through housework and riding my exercycle. I try to ride that at least twice a day for ten minutes at a time, depending on my fatigue. We are all eating much healthier, as well. Three square a day--with emphasis on produce and sparse portions of lean meat. We also invested in a juicer and we each have a glass of fresh carrot/celery/apple juice a day. We visited my chiropracter a week ago. He was pleased with my progress (and a firm believer in the evils of aspartame and other additives.) He managed to get my neural pathways open again and I saw a real improvement after that. We go back again in three weeks. And in the meantime, I see a massage therapist once or twice a week. My chiropracter said he thinks that I will probably have another one to two weeks of the major withdrawal symptoms before I see them lifting and start seeing good days which should then begin increasing in number. I am also using guided healing meditation CDs. I find that they really help to relax and restore my confidence in beating this thing. [I'm] still encountering major chronic fatigue-worse in the morning and then intermittent throughout the day; flashing lights; muscle and body aches and pains; an "unreal" feeling; a horrible taste in my mouth (which the herbalogist suggests is probably the release of toxins.) Weird headachesone spot and then another. Neuropathy in my feet. (And they swell up each night.) Memory problems. Momentary anxietylike when some new withdrawal symptom pops up unexpectedly and I wonder if I'm going to relapse as bad as I was. This is usually handled through meditation, though I have taken kavakava a couple of times. Lots of hot flashes and sweating spells. On the plus side: absolutely no cravings for anything with aspartame. The constant anxious feeling of impending doom/death is gone. Blood sugars in the normal range and remaining there (though I have not cut my insulin for the past week to let it stabilize a bit.) No cravings for carbohydrates or chocolate. Improved outlook on life. Anyway... that's the current report. I truly wish there were more narratives of how people went through the withdrawal/detox. Somehow knowing that I'm not the first (nor unfortunately the last) to go through this is comforting...that I'm not a freak of nature and that I am on the right path.Leta Hi Leta, I'm so glad to read [about your] improvement. I wish there was a way for people not to go through withdrawal but aspartame is an additive drug. Methanol is classified as a narcotic and keeps blood sugar out of control. Now that your blood sugar is controlled and some of this poison is leaving the body, much of the worse is over. It's like it says in Dr. Roberts' medical text: it is like AA-one day at a time. Just think how wonderful you'll feel in about 60 days. I hope you got his medical text. Whenever you see any physician you need to take it to make sure you've never given anything with this neurotoxin. |
